Independence, MO is part of the Kansas City Metropolitan Area. Our local women in business market are great for women entrepreneurs. Missouri women-owned businesses generated $21.9 billion in sales and in Kansas $9.9 billion in sales. As spokeswoman, I will be putting together a business cluster for local businesswomen who want to share the cost of marketing and advertising to grow their business.

About my metro women in business market: According to the Kansas City Business Journal (2012), “the report shows that Missouri has an estimated 139,700 women-owned firms this year compared with 130,726 in 2007 and 103,626 in 1997. The businesses provide 142,100 jobs and $21.9 billion in sales. In Kansas, the number of women-owned firms reached 68,100 this year, up from 65,180 in 2007 and 54,638 in 1997. They employ 70,800 and generate $9.9 billion in sales” (p 1).

Just For Her Expo – June 1-3 – Just for Her Expo is an annual women’s event and is known as the largest women’s expo in Kansas City. Professional women own businesses showcase products and services to the world. Great opportunities to network, cross promote, attract new customers, build your business and showcase. Just for Her Expo attracts visitors from around the country. Businesses get to market before and during the expo. There are a variety of marketing campaigns and sponsorships for your business. For visitors and overnight stays there are recommended hotels accommodations.
